A member of our engineering team approached me one day and said, “Hey, I made this diagram. Is there anything you can do to clean it up?” We talked for a couple minutes so I could better understand the goals of the project, and then I went to work on my version. The new look is certainly cleaner, but my design also layers the information to make it easier to see the density of success factors at any given stage of the business lifecycle (outside ring). The layered approach provides a better sense for critical areas than the original diagram while being much easier to reference at a glance.
