Kirstin Jackson is a wine & cheese writer and educator based out of the San Francisco Bay Area. She’s the author of the book, “It’s Not You, It’s Brie: Unwrapping America’s Unique Culture of Cheese“. This video was shot on location at a wine bar as a 2 camera setup with a key light and a background fill. I was really drawn to the color and texture of the back wall on the main shot. It added a beautiful richness to the overall scene.
One of the challenges on this production was the presence of a humming refrigerator nearby that couldn’t be turned off during the shoot. Fortunately, the hum was easily removed in post.
For the final look, I wanted to get away from the slightly jaundiced look of the original footage and really allow Kirstin to pop from the frame with a bright, saturated look. I began the color grading process in Adobe Premiere, and then exported to Lightroom where I could play with some film-like filters that I like to use in some of my photography.
